Setting Up Your Browser to Use DriveTest Services

Enabling Transport Layer Security (TLS)

The DriveTest website uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption to protect the privacy of information passing between your web browser and DriveTest web servers. Encrypting the information allows it to be transmitted and confirmed safely.

Currently, you need Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 or higher to access DriveTest’s secure services. You are seeing this page because your browser either does not have TLS 1.2 enabled or does not support TLS 1.2.

You must enable TLS to access DriveTest online services. DriveTest encourages users to upgrade to TLS 1.2. The following provides tips on how to enable TLS within popular browsers; however, instructions do vary from browser to browser and version to version, so the best resource is the documentation for your specific browser.

  • Select Tools from the browser menu bar.
  • Select Internet Options.
  • Select the Advanced tab.
  • Scroll down to the Security section.
  • Check Use TLS 1.2.
  • Select OK.
  • Close your browser for the new settings to take effect.
  • Firefox uses TLS encryption by default and there is no setting to enable it.
  • Safari uses TLS encryption by default and there is no setting to enable.
  • Chrome uses TLS encryption by default and there is no setting to enable.
